Trey & Mariel Link
Trey and Mariel Link are a husband-and-wife team based in Upstate South Carolina with a deep connection to Tanzania and a passion for meaningful travel. Trey first traveled to Sub-Saharan Africa in 2013 on a mission trip, and the experience left a lasting impact on him. In 2018, Trey and Mariel traveled to Tanzania together for the first time on a mission trip, unknowingly laying the foundation for what would eventually become The Safari Link.
Since then, their lives have grown in more ways than one. Now a family of six, Trey and Mariel continue to believe that Tanzania is not only one of the most extraordinary places in the world to travel, but also a place that can be experienced thoughtfully and meaningfully by families as well as seasoned adventurers.
Trey specializes in designing custom Tanzania safaris shaped around each traveler’s interests, pace, and style of travel. As an IATAN-certified travel advisor, he combines firsthand experience with careful planning and trusted relationships throughout Tanzania to help create deeply personal safari experiences.
Mariel brings a unique perspective rooted in hospitality, family travel, and intentional design. Her passion for helping families experience Tanzania has become an important part of The Safari Link’s identity, encouraging others to see that safari can be immersive, approachable, and deeply meaningful for travelers of all ages.
Together, Trey and Mariel work closely with each client to create journeys that feel personal, well-considered, and connected to the landscapes, wildlife, and culture of East Africa.
Malcolm brings extensive experience in Tanzania’s luxury hospitality and tourism industry, with a background in sales, reservations, and safari operations. Having worked alongside a variety of respected travel companies and hospitality brands, he offers deep knowledge of Tanzania’s lodges, camps, and travel experiences.
His understanding of both luxury travel and the practical realities of safari planning makes him an invaluable part of The Safari Link team. From carefully matching guests with the right properties to helping shape seamless travel experiences, Malcolm’s insight and relationships within Tanzania help bring each itinerary to life with authenticity and attention to detail.
